The Start Line – this amends the Sailing Instructions - Amendment 1

The start line is the line between Cardinal Buoy North Kish (N53 18.553 W5 56.424) and Kish Bank Lighthouse (N53 18.655 W5 55.547)

The ISORA YB tracking will provide the Race Management with an accurate position of each boat in the start area. Boats that are deemed by YB to have crossed the start line will receive a time penalty of one minute for every one second over the line.


Amendment 2

Boats going to and in the starting area can use their engines up to the start line provided they complete a 3600 turn after turning off the engine.

Amendment 18th April 2024

A race will be added to the Welsh Coastal Series as Race 17 CW5 - this will be run on 15th June - best three races out of 5 to count in the series.


2024 Class bands are anticipated as follows:

Class 0 = 1.070 or greater
Class 1 = 1.010 to 1.069
Class 2 = 1.009 or less

2024 bands will be published before the first Race.
